The medieval town of Vinca sits between the Mediterranean (beaches are 25 minutes drive east) and the Pyrenees (ski stations are 30 minutes drive west). It is in the centre of agricultural land with peaches, vines and olives and is popular and well known for its large swimming lake and beach. There are good rail, air and road links to the region with the Tgv to Barcelona opening in 2008 (Vinca is on the main rail line from Perpignan 25 kms away). The town centre has all main shops and services and is 2 minutes walk from the villa.
